    450 Bushmaster Case Wall Thickness?

Has anyone cut in two a piece of 450 Brass and measured the brass thickness at the web, a little above the web and also where the brass taper starts? Wonder how this compares to brass made from 284 Win. etc.. ?

Guess I have to ask the question. Why?

450 Bushmaster is fairly common around here. Also seems to pop up in the S&S fairly regularly.

Do you see an advantage to using 284 brass? Or is this just wanting to see if it is possible?

I've gone down enough of those rabbit holes just out of curiosity.

Primer shortage! Just about out of SR primers but do have LR on hand. Using brass for LR would be a big help to me.

Midway had CCI small rifle magnums today, if you move fast...

I stuck my RCBS ball mic down 350L brass which was .010" to .75 inches and was .017" thick when I ran out of reach at .950". Do you have an unsupported web like 350L?

I believe commercial 450 Brass would be unsupported , but brass made from 284 Win is.

Now I'm going to have to go chop a 450 Bush Master and a 350 Legend in half to see what the internal profile looks like.

Got me curious. I would have assumed that any newly designed cartridge would have had a fully supported primer pocket.

But I've been wrong before. I'm married.

    37+ years.

Musta been wrong at least once.

I cannot imagine a brass outfit producing "new ballon head" brass for smokeless loads.
