    Martini Henry screw

    577-450 Martini Henry.
Anyone know where I could get a replacement screw that holds in the cock indicator????
I found a place on the web, but it's out of the USA.

You might try ima or sarco , at one time there was a fellow in the US offering them but that was years ago and he was less then what I'd call reliable .

Checked with Sarco and IMA, but nothing.
I did see the one at the Martini Henry Society.
Might see if they could send one.

This guy, Scott Stonehill, (sstonehill@knology.net) has made screws for me and did a fantastic job. His work is not cheap, but the quality is outstanding.

The retainer screw is a tiny very fine thread.....40 tpi ....and commonly stripped .....however ,the axle is still retained if the screw head is the correct size .....Ive found a metric thread thats slightly larger ,and is a tight fit even in a stripped hole.....IIRC its standard 3mm thread.

    Hold is not stripped.
Slot on the head is all messed up.
Had to use a punch to get it out.
It is a fine thread, and not to many of them.
    Still looking.
Emailed, but no reply from anyone.

If the head is the only thing that is messed up ?
Try welding the head up and file to reshape it.
I have had to do this several times .
