Hi Fellas, where I am (Australia)pistol powders are scarce. Some time ago I pulled bullets out of a lot of factory Remington UMC 38+P 125 SJHP as I like to load this bullet for subsonics.

Anyway, I have about 1.5lbs of this unknown powder left and being I got out of 357 I'd like to use it in 44 mag. Does anyone know what this might be or is it just some industrial factory option?

The powder per case averaged 6.5 grains, revolver speeds are advertised at 945fps.

I chronied it through my 20" Rossi 92 as well and got an average of 1300fps, quite a decent gain for a small powder charge.

Basically I have a powder that with 6.5 grains moves 125JHP at 945fps from a 38+P pistol. It would therefore seem to be slower burn rate than Universal and even Unique.

Thinking of trying starting levels equivalent to unique in my 44mag lever gun behind 200grain bullets. 'Thinking of' as in not committed to yet
