Nice score - are they shootable or do they need rebuild?
Good pick.
I often buy things like those.
I am not a concerned about the condition as I am about the price.
But then , I do my own rebuilds.
Looks like you might have hit a home run on both rifles.
Let us know how they shoot.
Capt. Good grab. I have taught muzzleloading at a Boys & Girls camp for 20 years and have used the CVA mountain stalker as a line rifle. It has never let me down. For class purposes I shoot only a 50 grain load and the gun shoots as good today as the first day I shot it. The kids managed to destroy the sights somehow, one year, and I replaced them with a set of T/C adjustables from an old T/C barrel. Works great. Given the chance, I'd buy almost every CAV mountain staler I would run across.
Good job.
