    New England handi rifle questions

I picked up a .30-30 recently and it’s my project rifle, few questions are:

Anyone know where a parts diagram and list is? I need to replace both sling swivels and sights.

Trigger job advice? It’s God awful and needs to lighten up. I’m not looking for match quality just lighter. (Probably at 15lb+ right now)

And is there a serial number registry or list to see how old it is?

    Many thanks to all
    -Mike

The psychologist said I’m normal, and gave me paperwork to prove it.

Brownells used to have schematics on their web site.

The hot tip for a trigger job on those is to use the spring out of a ballpoint pen as a trigger return spring. And don't go stoning on the parts much at all, they are surface hardened and it's easy to cut through that into the soft metal underneath.

Ditto on Graybeard forum as a great source of information.

Third recommendation to visit Greybeards. There is an entire section devoted to Handi Rifle enthusiasts. How to's, accurizing information, parts exchange, etc.

Be sure not to dry fire it. The transfer bar( striker) is a weak point.
It's going to be fun. The 30-30 is a great 127 year old cartridge.
