Shooters World Buffalo Rifle Reduced Load Help

I have some Buffalo Rifle and I ran across references to it not only being good for "several pistol calibers" but also reduced rifle loads in every rifle. This is from the Shooters World and Lovex websites but they give no load information on either that I can find. They do reference 5744 several times and say that it's quite close to it.

So, how to approach the reduced loads. Same loadings as 5744 -10% at min to start or load a shell to the base of the boolit, weigh it and start at 60% of that? I've not run across a manu that says their powder can be used for something then give no data at all on it especially something as broad as "reduced loads in all calibers"

    Greetings,

The Gordon's Reloading Tool (GRT) software has Buffalo rifle in the database.

    What caliber are you loading?

    Cheers,

    Dave

jon, FWIW, I once tried AA 5744 in my .357mag. with ~180gr. CB's and got lots of unburned powder left behind in spite of having followed AA's directions as to starting charge, etc.

I use 5744 data with Buffalo Rifle with good results in my rifles. I have never tried it in a handgun.
