    Mec 600 Jr goof up

The price was right, like new MEC 600 Jr 12 gauge unit. Wrong answer since I'm new to this shotgun loading I quickly realized it's a 10 gauge set up after I got it home and found that the sizing ring is to big for a 12g and hull sticks on sizing stem.Live and learn the hard way.

like gw says sell the 10 ga. 10 ga are probably pretty easy to sell. not nearly as common as 12 or 20 and the only way most us can afford to shoot 10 ga is to reload.

The answer is easy. Buy a 10 gauge shotgun!!!

Or offer to swap the ten gauge parts for 12 gauge parts in S&S. Probably there are sets out there languishing in some guys "too good to throw out, don't have a clue when I'll use them" box.

All good suggestions. I bought a 600 jr cuz I was told it was 20 ga. Well, it had both 20 ga and 12 ga stations. It must have been in process of being converted. I finished converting it to 20 ga.

If the support tube on a MEC 600 gr is threaded on both ends does that make it a pre-82? And it is almost 4 inches long.

    You're trapped now.
Now that you've got the reloader, you NEED a 10ga. shotgun to feed it.

I've got a full extra 12g conversion I would trade for your 10g parts. Only I'll be out of town for a month

Doesn't every guy with a "man" card have one of those boxes?

    I've got probably a dozen.

Well, the MEC is going down the home stretch.Need to figure out where I will mount it,kind of running out of room on the old work bench. Still need to adjust final crimp.Only going to load Gun club hulls with 3/4 oz and 700 X.Also checking out charge bar and powder bushing from a member here on the site.Might need to send pics to someones cell to post for me.

Just loaded a sizable amount of 7/8 oz. and a light charge of 700X for reduced cowboy loads. A few years ago, used Mec juniors could be had for about $50. I think they are still out there if one knows where to find them. My 12, 20 and 410 mecs are mounted on a movable 12”X18” plywood bases. They are movable.
