Found a dandy little 94 .30-30 a few weeks ago, serial number says it's a '79. It's a ton of fun to shoot and handy as can be.

Only a fool would attempt it, and God help me I am that fool.
Sweet I have a 94 Trapper AE in 44 mag its one of my favorite to shoot.
That's a fine hog slayer for sure. Looks like Ballard rifling to me, I don't think Winchester ever used microgroove that was a Marlin thing.

i have an ae trapper in 357 mag ,i like compact guns especially lever actions
r80rt,
My Trapper is the same as yours, made in 80. Bought it new. I use a Sierrra 170gr FP over IMR3031. With Williams FP Receiver sight cranked all the way down and the factory front sight, it prints 3" high half inch groups at 50yds and dead on at 100yrds. I also fitted it with a Pachmayr #500 pad, that is a 1/4" pad that doesn't slip. A Great Rifle. Real Winchesters all the way.
I HATE auto-correct
Happiness is a Warm GUN & more ammo to shoot in it.
My Experience and My Opinion, are just that, Mine.

Had a Pre-Reagan era 44 mag Trapper. (no button) Wished I had purchased the 30-30 model instead. 44 cal I had was marginal at best in accuracy. Upon its peddling I was happy to see it go.
Love the Trapper. I have a custom SRC Trapper that I made out of a neglected 1964 vintage 1894 in 30 30.
Had a AE .44 Trapper that was, on it's best day, only fair in the accuracy department. Slugged out pretty fat (can't remember it's been so long).
Cool. Whats the mag capacity? A standard 20” is 7+1.
The capacity on my 16" 30-30 is 5+1.
Only a fool would attempt it, and God help me I am that fool.
Yeah, I use a 170gr FP over 3031 myself, it works great.

I've got one of the 30-30 Trappers from the 70's too. I get some pretty impressive velocities (for a short barrel), with outstanding accuracy using the NOE 311041 clone and LVR powder. I love that little levergun.
My Winchester trapper is 45 Colt...pre safety. Wish I could find one like yours!
I had a trapper in 45 Colt as well, a fired shell looked like a bottle neck cartridge, the chamber so big. but it was very accurate. Had great wood, too.
Nice lookin Trapper, I have an early AE Ranger from that same time period in 30-30.
Very accurate, looks a lot like yours just with the 20" tube.
