    Possible Swedish mauser barrels

I have a pair of new military stepped barrels that were sold to me as 8x57 small ring mauser, apparently they are neither 8x57 or small ring, and have a crown stamp on them, bore swallow a 7mm projectile and a 30-06 cartridge fits the chamber, any ideas? Bore was .305-.306 in the groves with my cheap calipers.

Didn't Sweden have a few large ring Mauser's chambered for a 8x63mm (or so, going from memory here) round to match their machine guns?

No idea as to cartridge shape. I would do a chamber cast before I did anything else with those barrels.

Birthday candle wax works well and cheap to do. The slight shrinkage of the wax will not give you false results.

Could be Swedish, they have the Carl Gustav crown mark.......and Swedes rebarreld K98s as 30-06 for shooting competition...........so assuming they are Carl Gustav, they are made to convert German captured Mausers to 30 -06.(large ring 1.1" x12 tpi thread.
