Need info on a Chinese SKS

I just bought an awesome Chinese factory 26 SKS but it has some interesting trench art. Does anyone know the history this could have had of some links for me to read up on the history where this rifle may have been used?Click image for larger version.

It has vengeance for grandpa carved into the stock, it has a dagger carved into it 9 marks(I assume kill marks) and 1990 and 1991 carved into it multiple times

I wonder if the soldier got into trouble for his artwork?
    Neat rifle by the way!

Yeah I did, they had 3 pallets of them for $359 each so I went through what I could see and grabbed this one. I just wish I knew it’s history

I have an early 26 with a three inch carved circle on right butt of what I was told by the "interpreter" loosely to Taiwanese rebellion and freedom. Very intricate carving and all matching in really nice shape, shot well also.

Fascinating--but unlikely that you'll ever know for certain. Some things to look into would be was the import of these rifles recent? Usually the importers won't tell you where they got them, but sometimes will. C.A.I./C.I.A. was always pretty close mouthed about the origin of their weapons. But it's possible that they aren't recent imports and have been sitting in a warehouse for years waiting for the price to go up. You could research where the never-ending series of conflicts were going on around the world in '90-'91 and in which the Chinese would have provided aid to insurgents. It's also possible that you might discover the owner's name when you disassemble it for cleaning, perhaps under the butt plate. There are so many really interesting historical artifacts that can't be precisely pinned down..........

An anchor with a star is the rank for a Senior Chief or Master Chief in the Navy. Gulf war started in 1990 and SKS's were plentiful in the middle east. It could just be the new owner didn't complete the two in 1992 and the rifle was snagged by customs.

Ok so they didn't come out of china...they had to be in a different country for Xamount of years. I would take a guess judging by the artwork date and symbols that it was used in the break up of Yugoslavia in the early 90s.

Interesting. If these "Slightly Used' rifles are going for $359.00; what is an unfired with Bayonet SKS going for that I bought back in 1992?

Depending on what country made in it could be anywhere from 600-1000$
