For Thought and Meditation - Saturday, May 28

Good morning all. Today's message is very timely for me. I need this encouragement right now. Have a safe and blessed day.

Saturday, May 28, 2022 - Pastor Greg Laurie
    Working from Salvation

"And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart."
    —Galatians 6:9

When we hear the statement “You reap what you sow,” we tend to think of it in a negative sense. And there is a negative way that it can play out in our lives. But the Bible says, “For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life” (Galatians 6:8 NKJV).

The Bible promises rewards — acknowledgment for our faithful service to the Lord. And Jesus said, “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work” (Revelation 22:12 NKJV). We must do His work.

Are you working for the Lord? I’m not referring to working for your salvation, because salvation is a gift from God to you. Ephesians 2:8 tells us, “God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God” (NKJV).

Because of that, we should want to do something for the Lord, not working for salvation but working from salvation. A faith that works will produce works. A faith that doesn’t work won’t.

The apostle Paul wrote, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:58 NKJV).

Jesus often made the statement, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” (Matthew 11:15 NKJV). In other words, “Pay attention to what is being said!” We all know what it’s like to tune things out when someone is saying something that we don’t want to hear.

But when it comes to hearing and obeying God’s Word, Jesus is saying, “Tune it in.”

The decisions we make and the lifestyle we choose now will impact us in the life to come.
Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty.

Matthew 7:15-23 15"Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. 21"Not everyone who says to me, 'LORD, LORD,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.".......(End snippage)

Once saved, are you producing good fruit? Are you Feeding Jesus's sheep? Are you feeding the poor, visiting the infirm and old, and those in prison in his name? Are you doing HIS work or yours?
I truly believe we need to get back to basics.

    Get right with the Lord.
    Get back to the land.
Get back to thinking like our forefathers thought.

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you
and give you His peace. Let all of the earth – all of His creation – worship and praise His name! Make His
    praise glorious!
