Go bored today. Above is a little finesse hammer for set ups
bony handle scales. brass shaft, black derlin caps, about 8" long and 6 ounces.Dead blow.

Would make a nice sprue hammer also.

I'd be real proud of that hammer. Then MY problem would be I don't think I could bring myself to hit something with it and scar it up.

Yes I made i in the new shop, It was all bar stock when I started.

Ive got the grinder and mill up and running now along with the vertical cutoff saw and welder. Ive made several things now A zero it style indicator mount for the mill, a diamond dresser for the pedestal grinder, Some vise stops and other odds and ends. Ive got 2 more of the hammers in the works for friends. These little projects are helping me learn the machines characteristics.

At work all the journeyman had these little projects for our apprentices. I had several that were meant to be done with all hand tools, and some that were just down right handy in your box
