    12 gauge 2.75 buckshot

After reading tons of stuff and watching Wade’s videos I tried some 2.75 fiocchi hulls someone had given me. First off I like these better than the federal. I tried these below
    Longshot powder
Fiocchi 2.75 hull from a 1 ounce dove load
Ctps wad trimmed for 2.75 loading slit four times half way down the wad
12 .310 hand cast buck I mixed some pure with ww I stacked these by twos and covered in bpi original
Remington 870 28 inch barrel factory full and modified choke
    I tried 27,28,29 charge weights
The modified did ok and I tried two loads without buffer both with 28 grain charge and with both chokes, both of these did ok but opened up a bit plus when inspecting the wads it looked like the pellets deformed the base pretty bad from setback I assume
The best I had was the 27 charge all shots were between 30 to 35 yards
Tried to upload the picture from my phone but won’t allow it for som reason you could cover all twelve pellets with a closed fistClick image for larger version.

Use hard lead. That looks pretty good.

Are you saying that load is only spreading 3" or 4" at 30 yards?

That was the spread it was the best group I had but I could also see the wad almost hit the target so the shot was just leaving the wad. I had some cut to the bottom of the cup but those were wider as well.

Here is a picture of the loads from full choke with all patterns marked
    Slash was the 27
    Circled 28
    X was 29
The ones not marked was 28 with no buffer Click image for larger version.

I load 29 cal by 3s in the ctps wads over 27.5 longshot and it's a winner

Man....that is really good performance for 30-35 yards! I've fired a lot of police buckshot loads, and at distance just having 3 holes in the target would be a norm. You're doing something right.

Just got lucky I loaded some three inch in the ctps wad too but never got that good of a group they were stacked by threes so I am going to try them again stacked by twos see if it will tighten up
