I am wanting to try pp in .308 and .30-06. Did a little once before for a Krag with grossly oversized bore.
Suggestions appreciated.

Paper targets aren't your friends. They won't lie for you and they don't care if your feelings get hurt.
Lyman had some 30cal. molds and loading data in their cast bullet handbook. I think it was number 4
The 3 people a man must be able to trust completely are his gunsmith his doctor & his preacher ..,his gunsmith for his short term health ,his doctor for long term health ,and his preacher incase one of the others mess up.
I have seen some NOE molds offered too.

I have this one from Accurate Molds. I use it in both the 308W and 30-06 and it's been a winner.

What speed are you pushing them at?

I'm pushing them nearly as fast as regular factory loads, in the range of 2400-2500 fps. I wrap with green bar printer paper and lube the patch with white label BAC. I size the boolit to .304 and final size to .310 after patching.
Thanks

The old NRA publication from 1979 "Cast Bullets" by Col. E.H. Harrison has a good section on high velocity paper patch loading in .30 caliber rifles.
Read that years ago. My copy eventually disintegrated. Still have the old NRA loading manual.

I had one made by steve books for my 45-90, Nose pour. Just got it today actually. Fantastic people and mould.

Hope it helps.
Let us know how you get on.
My most used 30 cal PP boolit is the NOE copy of the NRA design. I have the 175 grain version, and just like ShooterAZ I patch them with green bar paper, and usually load over a case full of WC860 duplexed a bit with IMR4227. Super light neck tension, just a slip fit in the neck. I also got Accurate to make me a nice one for the 338-06 with his micro grooves like a tumble lube bullet, at 220 grains. That's all I have used in that rifle and it performs beautifully.
The slower powders usually work the best. While I have not tried WC860, RL22 and H4831 work well for me. I've been shooting PP in my M700's, and don't resize my cases so that I can do the "slip fit" thing into the case necks. I let the rifle fully seat the boolits as they are being chambered.
Received one in the mail today, NEI .300 diameter 170 grain.
Hopefully can soon make time to try it out.
Where does one obtain green bar paper?
The green bar paper was for the dot matrix printers of loooooong ago. I just googled and it seemed to be running between 65-130 for a new box. I years ago looked at it like lead hunting, first asking around friends base, old office supply stores, ask around at old established businesses that may have a dusty partially used box sitting somewhere in the back. Think of it like another safari, like the one I am on now trying to find the no longer loved elusive floppy disc to steal the slide door spring for the pile of Marlin triggers here.
If one were buying a mold from Accurate for PP a 30 cal would you go with a .300 or something slightly bigger?
I’m thinking about doing PP in my 30-40, but it’s a modern barrel in a Ruger#3. I don’t have the bolt cam to push the bullet into the lands. The GG/GC bullets I’m shooting now from a Lee 309-200 are seated long and I can push them in with my thumb.
I know I’ll have to experiment with final size but if someone has some experience I’d appreciate it.
.001-.002" over bore diameter, so if it's a real 30 cal then .302".
