Mossberg 142-A question

I was going to pose this question on rimfirecental.com, but they have completely changed their forum & I can't figure out how to sign in.

I'm rust blueing a 142-A. It's the old type with the T type bolt handle & wood fold-down fore end.

I bought it used on GB.

The bolt shroud as bought is not blue: it's bright. My 142-K is of more recent manufacture with the plastic fold-down fore end. The bolt shroud on it is blued. It also differs in that the cone shaped rear is grooved similar to a beehive.

To blue or not to blue: that is the question.

AFAIK, RFC changed to an 8 character password.

If you can get to the login window, select "forgot your password ?" - RFC will email you a link to reset your password from the older one to an 8 character password.
