    Colt Gunsmith Recommendations

Can anyone recommend a gunsmith familiar with Colt double action lockwork?
I have a police positive and an OM Match that need to be tuned.

    I appreciate any recommendations.

Now I lay me down to sleep
A gun beside me is what I keep

Sandy Garrett at Northern VA Gun Works in Lorton, VA is the only Colt factory trained gunsmith in the American Pistolsmiths Guild directory. He has rebuilt all six of my Colt New Service revolvers, four Official Police, two Police Positive and two Detective Specials for me.

Outpost, a map search turns up such a shop in Springfield, just north of Lorton, but their site is exclusively about the manufacture of ambi mag releases for combat rifles, no mention of smithing services. Is this the place you mean?

This fellow was trained at the old Colt factory. He has a fairly extensive supply of obsolete parts as well as the knowledge to use them.
