I can't remove the battery from my Dewalt saw, the thing refuses to come loose.
Any ideas as to how I can get the battery off the saw?
Thanks!

Dumb question, you’ve removed it before, so it’s not a function of not knowing how to operate the release, right?
When you press down on the release button, does the button move down as usual? I’m trying to determine if the button mechanism is stuck and that’s got the battery in place, or if the catch is moving out of the way and the battery is jammed on something.
i have one that i have to use really big channel locks to remove
if you are ever being chased by a taxidermist, don't play dead
If it was me I'd use the heel of my hand and give the battery a good thump IN. Then try to release and remove as normal.
Either it is stuck on a piece of sawdust or hung on the catch.
I would NOT beat on it through. Channel locks and a little prying with a flat bladed screwdriver perhaps.
I truly believe we need to get back to basics.
Get right with the Lord.
Get back to the land.
Get back to thinking like our forefathers thought.
May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you
and give you His peace. Let all of the earth – all of His creation – worship and praise His name! Make His
praise glorious!
if the terminals heated up and melted plastic together or batteries swelled, just a whole lot of pulling. at worst push in release tabs and get a screwdriver or small pry bar to persuade it apart
I’d give it a good whack on the battery via slamming it against a stump or similar.
Thanks, a combination of thumps and a big channel locks solved my problem.

Next time (and even how) spray some dry lube silicon spray on the battery and tools slide areas. That usually will lend a helping hand!
ive found a little bit of that copper never seize works pretty good on plastic slides. it only takes a tiny bit of it to make big difference
Great ideas, the older I get the harder things are to take apart

I've got a whole lot of Dewalt battery tools and all the batteries come off the tool. They just won't run the tools. I've already had the cells replaced on one battery and bought a new drill just to get the batteries. Both gave up the ghost in no time. Won't buy Dewalt ever again.
