Author of Unintended consequences, I think he used to post here. I heard yesterday that he passed. Can anyone confirm this?

A quick Google did not generate anything for John's obituary for st Louis mo. I bought a JR500 from him and I think the name on the ID he sent to my ffl was John Franklin Ross.
I hope he is alive because unintended consequences needs to be completed.
I just now saw it on the Zelman partisans. I guess it’s confirmed. R. I. P.
you sure it was not "condor john" that you noticed, he passed recently.
if you are ever being chased by a taxidermist, don't play dead
Sorry to hear that, I enjoyed that book. Seemed like a solid guy.
I truly believe we need to get back to basics.
Get right with the Lord.
Get back to the land.
Get back to thinking like our forefathers thought.
May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you
and give you His peace. Let all of the earth – all of His creation – worship and praise His name! Make His
praise glorious!
Loved the book...sad to hear of his passing.

Crud hope the new book gets published posthumously.
John Ross' passing is apparently true. There are umpteen condolences on his passing his Facebook wall.
Just 12 days ago, he posted on FB asking for some history type of help for the current book he is working on.

NEED HELP WITH MY WRITING AGAIN
Does anyone know of a way to determine the date that a book was first available to the public that is MORE SPECIFIC than just the year?
Case in point: Elmore Leonard wrote his story THE BIG BOUNCE in 1966, but no publisher wanted it. He sold the rights to Hollywood, and the film of the same name was released on March 5, 1969. Leonard DID NOT write the screenplay, which isn't nearly as good as the book.
The first printing of the first edition of the actual novel was published as a trade paperback, in 1969, with a note on the cover "Now a major motion picture." Leonard likely arranged a tie-in with Fawcett as soon as Warner Brothers green-lit production.
I need to know WHEN the book was first available. Could you buy it on or before March 5? If not, how much later was it in bookstores? If it was after the first week of April 1969, I'll have to redo or partly eliminate a scene in CR...
EDITED TO ADD:
Thanks to the help of Miguel Gonzalez, I have slightly rewritten the scene and added another, earlier passage that makes (IMO) the story better.

Best book I've ever read.
Sure hope he finished the second one.
Is this the same John Ross who sold the special model of the S&W 500 PC revolver?
