Tin is where you find it!

In another thread of mine, I have discussed and proven the foil wraps and caps on high end scotch, whisky and wine are pure Sn. Not a lot of it, but if you save up your own + ask a bunch of friends and relatives to save their foil tops, it adds up.

Well as the opening said, Tin is where you find it. I was in a local scrap yard last week and ran across some bars in the lead barrels. I threw them in with my other stuff and bought it all for $1 a pound. Those 6 foundry bars were stamped PURE TIN. And weighed 7.7 pounds total. So almost 8# of pure foundry bars of Sn for 6 bucks is a nice deal!

You just gotta keep your eyes open!

Due to the price of primers, warning shots will no longer be given!

I used to cork and put lead capsules on wine bottle for a winery, guess that was in the late 1970’s. At some point they switched to tinned lead and I’m not surprised if it isn’t either tin or aluminum these days.

That was a fun job btw.

    Good score.

You need to make friends with a couple of bartenders at some nice restaurants and hotels. Otherwise, that would be more expensive than buying from a retailer...might be more enjoyable but still more expensive.

    Nice haul at a $1.00 a pound.
A vote for anyone other then the conservative candidates is a vote for the liberal candidates.
