Sorry to hear that, DG. He always seemed to me to be a good guy.
My condolences to his family and friends.

John was the fellow responsible for organizing and promoting the annual Willamette Valley Arms Collectors gun show in Eugene, OR. He had a C&R license. Two years ago he purchased a Llama Extra pistol in 9mm Largo, not realizing that it wasn't 9mm Luger. When he found out that it wasn't in a caliber he loaded for he contacted me via PM and offered to sell it for what he had paid for it. I accepted, and so began an e-mail friendship.

We showed each other our latest treasures with photos and discussed our accumulations. He lived in a small town north-west of Eugene, and since my daughter's family lives in the next town we planned to get together for lunch sometime. But, mainly due to the Covid-19 thing, I never made the 85 mile trip down from my mountain sanctuary, and consequently never met John face to face over a cheeseburger. I guess it points out the temporal and uncertainty of tomorrow in life. I wish I would have made the trip.

    DG
