Probably want to check the Swap & Sell to see what is available from individuals, and then a commercial source like Rotometals. Tin, pewter, range scrap and linotype is offered for sale at times. Perhaps those completed sales will give you an idea what these materials are actually selling for. Scrap value seems to fluctuate based upon your individual area.

You could also check the vendor section to see what is available in that area as well. Good luck.

Dusty makes a good suggestion. But basically wheelweight and soft lead ingots can be had for $1 to $1.25 a pound, maybe with or without shipping. Lino usually goes for a dollar a pound more, or about $2 to $2.25 a pound. Solder can be bought for between $6 to $10 a pound. Pewter can be had for about the same as solder. Pure Tin will be a lot more, maybe $20 a pound or more. Try to watch your local swap shops and Craigslist for local sales. I watch Ebay sometimes just for kicks and their prices are quite a bit higher that those that I posted, and a lot of the ads don't inspire confidence to me.

I would check prices on both here, other gun forums and Ebay. People are always saying how they can buy metals for this and that price and I never see it. Prices are going up, the days of $1 lead are gone unless someone can show me a genuine ad. Tin is sky high and prices all over the place along linotype. Some of the asking prices I have seen, even on here, seem really high but I am not buying.

I liken people quoting prices to still looking for $30/1,000 primers.

Local scrap yard is selling lead for $ 1.25/Lb. but you must buy a minimum of 1000 ponds. Because of the primer situation i will continue to accumulate lead little by little for now.
