    Lee mold Disappointment

Ugh! I just bought a new Lee mold, the first in many years. I get it out of the box and notice that5 somebody left a burr on the underside of the sprue hole and that it has gouged an arc across the top of my new mold. I haven't cast with it yet but I'd be surprised if it doesn't have base problems.

Why can't Lee get it right the first time? This is not the only time I've had issue with Lee. Some of their shell holders are pretty loose spec wise and their four hold progressive press is just a bundle of adjustments, slop fits and pretty short-lived plastic parts.

My experience is they get some things right all of the time and others seem really hit of miss. Oh well, I will survive but it's frustrating.

When o get a new lee mould I don’t open the cutter, I remove it and dress it first because of that gouge.
