    Thanks for posting that.

Now another favour to ask... I see on that sheet that the slug diameter is listed as 0.750". Have you got a micrometer to check diameter? If so would you please do that?

I have read that Brenneke made the slugs oversize with the ribs so the slugs would crush to perfect barrel fit but diameter listed has been variable depending on source. I am pretty sure I have seen diameter listed as nominal 0.729", 0.735" and now 0.750".

    Thanks,
    Longbow

Kent: The slugs are .732 and that is what is listed on the original Spec sheet that BPI published, also in my first post. First thing I did when they came in was to measure one to see what it was.

I might powder coat some to avoid any Leading problems from shooting unlubed boolits thru a rifled barrel. Probably do Red?.

Ordered new taller Front Sight yesterday will install and go back and sight in after it arrives. I'm pretty excited about this barrel The fact that it put two Lee slugs thru the same hole was encouraging!

    Others should follow.

    Randy:

Maybe that's where I read the diameter being basically bore diameter.

I have seen several references to diameter but they all seem to be different. I thought I had read that Brenneke slugs were larger than any standard bore diameter so they would crush to fit and I thought I had seen that on the Brenneke site but I didn't find it when I looked the other day.

I am curious if JeepsAndGuns' slugs are the stated 0.750" or something else. Looking back I see it was msm that originally posted that info that says 0.750". However, my curiosity needs to be satisfied! Not only have I seen varying diameters stated for the Brenneke Classic slug but also weight varies from 480 grs. to 495 grs. Not a huge difference but still...

Kent: Its not easy to read a set of calipers. I do it every day and I still have to take a measurement several times to make sure it repeats. Everyone else should do it several times as well. It is very easy to get bogus readings.

True! Verniers are not micrometers and even with a micrometer I take several readings to try to get repeating numbers which are usually close enough to accept. It is somewhat laughable that the modern digital verniers read out to tenths of a thou! It doesn't take much to affect a reading by a tenth or two.

On a recent job I was in the field with a maintenance engineer who was trying to get accurate measurements of 1 3/4" electric motor shafts that were coupled up, rusty and dirty, and he was writing measurements down to the tenth of a thou. No two of his measurements were even close which is to be expected in my opinion.

Anyway, I am curious about the Brenneke Classic diameters. I am sure they don't rattle down the bore so I suspect they are 0.730"+. I'll look through my references because I was pretty sure it was Brenneke that stated 0.735" diameter for the 12 ga. slugs.

The ones I have measure .730-.731 using a set of basic digital calipers.
