    Pretty impressive!

1886 Miroku winchester 45-90 loaded with 260gr cast lead PC bullet under IMR 4198

This is 3/8 AR 500 steel shot at about 30 yards, the goal was to zero in my sights and chrony the load at the same time so there was a thin piece of board in front of the gong with target stickers.
I knew it would ding the gong up but I didn’t expect this, holy smokes. 45-90 is not joke.

Another "keeper"! Nothing to complain about there, either for accuracy or terminal effect! Nice looking rifle.

    Good on ya!!
The 45-90 will definitely keep pace with anything you'd like to try it on!

Nice! What do you think the velocity was?
Wondering if it’s something I can attain with a 45-70

Yes. I use 45 70 data to load the 45 90 and creep it up till i start to see signs of overpressure. This was a max load for 45 70 modern. So it might get you too much pressure. 2379 fps. I use the GRT TOOL as well as 45 70 data in the books. The tricky thing with the 45 90 in the 1886 is the bullet selection. It cant be longer than 2.8 or so OAL.

There is a YouTube channel called "Leverguns 50" that has a great deal of ballistic and target performance data from a miruko 1886 in 45 WCF.
