Based off the velocity figure, I'd say smokeless. Maybe with that light weight bullet could be black.

Can you hear the powder rattle around when you shake one?
Some shake a tiny bit (stethoscope on the case) most do not. The boxes were still sealed with the label so I don't believe that they are anything but original. As far as the velocity goes, I've noticed that a lot of advertised velocities are a bit optimistic, but I don't think that it's out of range for an express loading like this with black powder.
I'm going to have to dump one to find out.
