I have been putting on a coat of BLL on my old commercial cast but you cant get the liquid wax for in any more. Ben worked up a replacement but you will have to research what he uses now. Here's the link.

I personally would not smear on extra lube, too messy. A tumble lube with Ben's Liquid Lube would be a positive step to avoid leading.

A tumble lube of BLL on commercial lube bullets with the hard, waxy crayon lube they have is a good idea. Hard bullets at low velocity/pressure and the hard wax lube, sometimes lead. A tumble with Ben's Liquid Lube will give additional protection to prevent or minimize any potential to lead.

Shoot the bullet in question and see if they need extra lube. Only if they lead would I add anything. Why make extra work for yourself.

Pre lubed. I have a bunch where the hard lube was sketchy and I was too lazy to boil it off and redo so I just gave them a coat of tumble lube to enhance them.

As long as the lube grooves are large enough, Just load and shoot. Keep life simple. Check to see if any problems are occurring. You may find yourself wanting to get into powder coating.
