    Formig 6.5 Carcano cases

    Seems Graf is out.
What would be the easiest case to use to form this????
I've seen lots of different parent cases used.

That's what the book has, but the base is .004 smaller.
I don't think it would make that much of a difference.
    But gotta ask.
Also listed .270, but it seems like way more work.
If .270 would work, .308 would be easier.

Depending on how much you are willing to pay including shipping, they are for sale over here. Since they are just empty cases, they should be able to be shipped to you. At the bottom of the page there are others for sale too.

Graf's has Privi 6.5x54 Mannlicher, same basic case, a simple resize and trim would do it. If you check chamber length, you might get away without trimming. I've used several other Privi calibers, 303 Savage and 303 British have worked well. 7.35x51 Carcano works, and then 220 Swift. .35 Rem will work but is very short and takes more work.

I've tried 308, but it ends up short. I use 30-06 cause I have a lot of it, but it's a lot of work.

    Norma is good brass.
Wouldn't want to use it on these rifles.
I have 220 Swift cases, so I might try those.
I was wondering if the .308 would be to short.
I have lots of 30.06 and .270, so just might try those.

I form mine from 6.5 Carcano. I fire form them then run them through a 7.35 fl die then trim and load. The whole process is extremely simple. I'm totally satisfied with the end results.

Just had a set of Lee 7.35 Carcano dies that were nothing but trouble. Ordered the RCBS off evilbay.

ET Brass has 6.5 Carcano in stock at a decent price. https://etbrass.com/index.php/in-stock-brass-bullets/

6.5x54 just needs a sizing and trim. A fella told me it was a very easy process. Any case with a bigger rim like .308 will need to be turned down slightly.
