Shipping rates & cosy of supplies

All have seen the sharp rise in fuel cost. Fuel cost drive up the cost of every thing . Last Oct, 2021 I looked at a new Tikka stainless 270. Price, $700. Just looked at one last week at the same Scheels. Now, $750. Less than 4 months. Those ( like me ) hoping prices would be going down , doesn't look like it will be happening.

There may have been a manufacturer's price increase the 1st of the year. Sometimes they have one mid year, depends on their situ.

I'm glad I saw this coming years ago and stockpiled everything I could get my paws on. One thing I learned early on in life, prices are like politicians, when they get bigger, they don't wan't to give up what they grabbed, i bought a lot of reloading components from surplus dealers back when powder was $1.00 a pound and primers were $10.00 a thousand. Lead was a few cents a pound back then. I stocked up on surplus rifles, too. K 98,Swede, a,d Argentine Mausers for well under $100. Springfield and Remington 03's for about the same. Got some good buys on M1 Garands and Carbines.A few Egyptian Hakims. Some Swede AG42's. Then a boat load of Mosin's for $50. Among others.Later on, I bought a few pallets of AK 47 parts kits. Bought like that, you could grab them for $75 per kit, when regular price was $99. Now days, this stuff comes in handy.
