We can blame scarcity on Homeland Security LOL. They supposedly bought up millions of rounds saying it was supposed to be for "practice" ammo.

Red and white Federal bricks of shorts. Gave my neighbor $3.15 before he went to work at Chevy's in Toledo on afternoons. Next day I'd have a brick of 22 ammo for executing sparrows and dirt clods.

Yes the Amsterdam store. The newer Johnstown/Gloversville store was fully stocked up on .22s also. Amsterdam has a three box limit per person. Gloversville has a two box limit. Glenns Falls and Saratoga same thing fully stocked with Federal Winchester and CCI. I'm still on the hunt for the elusive primer.

I will also add that last week I was in Runnings in Gloversville and the case was FULL. 9mm 45acp 22s Rifle ammo up the wazzo. Prices a bit high but .22s are a dollar cheaper then Walmart and 9mm was 19.99 a box of 50. Loads of 223/5.56. Once again a two or three box limit. Bring a friend.

I have some Win Mark III that I used when shooting NRA 50' indoor. It must be 50 years old now and doesn't perform like it use to.

Walked away from a brick of these yesterday. Dead guy stuff. The buddy who was cleaning out the stash was asking $50.

Thought that was steep for 50+ year old ammo.

In Northeast US, the limits are gone You can get 20 boxes of 22 if you wanted. And some days they do have 20 boxes.

Is it true that Walmart quietly started selling pistol ammo again? I haven't darkened their door since they announced they would no longer carry it a few years ago.
    Currently casting and loading: .32 Auto, .380 Auto, .38 Special, 9X19, .357 Magnum, .257 Roberts, 6.5 Creedmoor, .30 WCF, .308 WCF, .45-70.

The folks who shoot .350 Legend, .450 Bushmaster, and 28gauge factory ammo are in luck at our Wally world. And those that want the yellow box $40/300 .22 ammo are in luck as well. And those that need $10/25 12 gauge D&Q loads, too.
    Everyone else? Sorry.....

No pistol ammo at walmat. Texas by God what you say is the same here but problem is you can not afford that 350 legend ammo or 28g at my walmart. I grabbed up until the new year Legend ammo for 9 bucks a box, the same box is not 28 bucks.

Auto Match at the prices shown above is not too bad IMO.

Yes I remember and also remember the Remington 22 LR;s I bought at the local store for 30 cents and 22 Long for 25 cents! 50 of course, that was the only ones they had unless you bought the Rockets or Thunderbolts-25 to the pack- in the chewing gum packs!Attachment 297214Attachment 297215Attachment 297216

    Memories when I see these.
