    vintage paper 12 gauge shells

I found these in a box of stuff from an auction recently.

I intend to pattern them at 30 and 40 yards to see if they fire, I expect they will, and just to see how they pattern.

My guess is that they are from the 1950s.

I will shoot them from a 28 inch mod fixed choke.

I suspect that they will fire and produce a usable pattern. Maybe not as good a pattern as today's shells, but a lot of feathers and fur fell to paper hulls and card wads for decades. I still love loading old paper hulls. The smell when you fire them brings back a lot of good memories from long ago.

As you say good memories come from the smell of fired hulls.

From rabbit hunts to dove fields, the time, the places, the friends and family together there long ago.

I've got a box full of assorted paper hulls, fro 10 gauge to 410.
Got them a number of years ago at an auction, the swollen shells I removed the shot from and pitched....
