Thumbs up Tired of high retail prices for fishing gear?

Well I was when I stumbled across what seems to me a pretty good little outfit.

    https://chuckanddeb.com/

Great selection including just about everything you could want. Fairly reasonable prices and shipping.

I have bought from them several times. Longest I had to wait for an order was 8 days.
They prefer paypal for paying for your choices but there are other options.

They have a huge assortment of plastic baits, crankbaits, hooks, line, etc.

I have no association with them at all. But when I find a good place to buy what I need at more reasonable prices I like to share the wealth.
I truly believe we need to get back to basics.

Another good one is Jan's Netcraft Supply.

They've got about every thing you can think of,
plus all the gear and molds for making your own lures, nets, building your own rods, etc.
And they'll take your money about any way you want to spend it with them.

I have started buying from Barlow’s Tackle
As I have been able to sometimes get better prices than Jan's Netcraft has
Even though Jan's Netcraft is close to me

Get a sinker mold or two and get 'em more involved--- they'll love it.
Sinker prices are higher than giraffe lips now days too.
Even if they can't pour the Lead, there's plenty of sprue trimming and maybe painting to do also.

Sometimes I'll even go out and cast a few sinkers or lure bodies just to keep myself out of those crooked BINGO parlors.

    Thanks Wingered!
You're right, they've been helping with the sinkers since they were wee lads (and lady). They may even have a few lead soldiers!!! Painted of course

https://www.zeiners.com is another good place, and has the best do-it mold prices I have found.
An old Cherokee was teaching his grandson about life. "Inside me two wolves fight," he told the boy.
"One is evil - he is anger, envy, greed, arrogance, self-pity, resentment, lies, false pride, and ego. The other is good - he is joy, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, generosity, truth and faith. The same fight is inside you - and every other person, too."
The grandson thought for a minute and asked,"Which wolf will win?"
The old Cherokee replied, "The one you feed."

I posted a F/S for some sinker molds here but it got zapped because it wasn't shooting related.

No, I don't buy much fishing stuff. I restore my vintage bamboo fly rods and tie most of my fly's. Since investing in a few silk fly lines I haven't bought a new fly line in about 15 years. Silk will last a couple life times if cared for. About all I buy is Red Tin Mucilin for dressing the lines and tippet material and a little of that goes a long way.

Used to make dandy surf spiders with bent coat hanger wire and old brass cases. Put the wire in place and pour full of lead.

Good Cheer would love to see a photo of that.

Sharps if your going to tie fly's you will need hooks.

Seems to me the fly shops want to price those hooks like they was made of gold.

I tied flies for a few bigger retailers when I was growing up. Feather and fur and hair were easy to come by, but hooks were expensive. I would go to local bridges in the river on my Honda 80 during low water and gather hooks by the hundreds free for the taking. Granted, many were bent or otherwise unusable but most were just fine.
Pretty sure I'd get turned into CPS if I let my youngins so any of that now!

Jan's Netcraft has been out of stock on just about everything I have needed. Mostly rod building supplies. I have a firly local shop that typically has what I need.

Karl's bait and tackle is good and reasonable prices https://shopkarls.com/

For plastics I use www.googansquad.com, several of their plastics work well for walleyes at the right time of year, as do their hard baits. Not many bass around me but their bass lures are top notch, I use them if I get to Green Lake by Wilmar, MN, lot of smallies in that lake! Googan Squad rods are some of the best I have used, even better than my original Ugly Stick that is delaminating from age. I use one of their 7' heavy rods for catfish, extra length = longer casts in the river.
