    Please help identify this press

Along with that weaver scope I got this press and primer seater at auction. Can’t for the life of me find any make model or manufacturer details. And the web retuned 0 results. Again looking for value as well.

I was actually thinking that as the welds are pretty big and it’s extremely heavy

Would like to see the guts on that primer seater, it seems curiously tall. Is there a spring in there to return the handle to the top position?

Pretty well done for a one-off. Someone had skills! Too bad Pressman isn't here.
Take a kid to the range, you'll both be glad you did.

    Nice work for sure.
I’m trying to think of a situation where it would make sense to build vs buy these, and I’m coming up with nothing.

Very nice work on them. There are a lot of craftsman who would rather make something than buy it, and they do a good job of it. The priming tool is interesting and looks to be a simple design.

Im wondering if the press was line bored after being welded up, Die head and ram in one set up. It appears there may be bronze bushings on the ram also.

Im thinking a benchrester made these for his range loading use at matches. ALso there was a time when reloading equipment was hard to find and O frame presses were scarce.

The answer lies in the mantra of many home DIY'ers: Because I can.

Kind of like the people who ask why do you reload, or why would you cast those poisonous LEAD BOOLITS?

And to think I got those 2 and an RCBS powder measure with the pistol drum for a whopping $94 CAD.

Someone had access to a really good machine shop, and knew how to use the tools and machines in it.

A skilled machinist with a wife and kids, a house note, grocery bills , car note, electric bill but has time at work and materials available so it cost nothing to make and he saved a couple dollars that allowed him to buy primers, powder and bullets!

I should also mention in came in a wooden tray and sure enough it fits in like a glove.

Also this brass item was with it and I have no idea it’s purpose. I think I will reach out to the auctioneer to see if they can contact the person who owned these items to get some background.

I did a quick movement check. I have the RCBS supreme iV press and when the ram is all the way up it has a slight wiggle. Maybe 1 thou. This press has 0. I’m getting more excited as I look at it.

Good find! I'd of got the press too, and I don't need another one. Is the brass block some sort of neck turning tool that's missing some parts?
