    Durned Lee

So I just spotted a used Lee 2c mold and handles and took it home. I need some handles and sat down to remove the mold. WTH? where are the screws?. Are these pins that are peened over?. Pushing in on them hoping to feel a spring, didnt happen. Any tips? Do I leave this alone or try drilling out. I would rather not ruin the mold with a Sawsall

Springy roll pins - heard of people drilling the other end to push them out. Why remove the handles? Thinner than 'regular' Lee handles.
    Whatever!

Once you get the handles off, you will find they are pretty much worthless for use on other brand molds.

Thanks for all the advice, maybe try for a refund. Its a 225 gr acp mold but looks stubbier than the nice 4c Lyman I found last year. Maybe keep and not ruin it.

The Lee 225 grain round nose is only a 1R ogive. I have used many thousands in my 625 as seen in my avatar.

What exactly do you need a set of handles for ... Perhaps a set of Lee 6 Cavity Mould Handles would do ... these are made to be removed and on the box it even states " Fit Lee 6 Cavity And Other Brands Of 1 & 2 Cavity Moulds " .

I took a ride to Cabelas and found those handles. After an hour on a beltsander it looks like it will fit into the Lyman mold thats coming. I should have grabbed a lottery ticket. I had a couple Cabela cards and had the teller scan them. He gave me 2 little print outs with the amounts. The handles were something like $26.38. One card had the exact amount.

Well I got my, new, awesome mould from Rattlesnake Charlie and had to grind a little more and then see I had to drill out the bolt holes. Then I was cursing out Lee because, when mounted, the mould was way off from closing.I took apart, closed the moulds and put the bolts in and is perfect. Confused but happy now

Why is Lee the problem when you are trying to use them on another brand mold?

I thought the bolt holes were drilled on an angle to each other or the mold holes were angled. I was upset there for a couple minutes

I love Lee and can only afford them. I wish I could get a new die out of them because one resizer is unable to be disassembled due to the rod nut got snapped off.

Why was there sanding involved at all? The 2 cavity Lee molds have handles that are not supposed to be removed. I've got 5 sets of Lee 6 cavity handles. All of them will fit on every modern mold. Lee 6 cavity, Arsenal, Accurate, NOE, MP, Thompson Center, JT ball molds, Lyman, Saeco, and I'm sure more. It sounds to me like you screwed them up on the belt sander.

Nope the new Lee 6 cav. handles were around a good 30% too wide to fit a Lyman 4 cav. My original 2 cav Lee mold was left alone except for cleaning and cleaning up the dents and rough edges. Looks good now and I have another .45 acp RN of different design

Yeah, I had to grind down a set of Lyman handles to fit an old Lyman Mold. Lyman has changed a lot of dimensions over the years.
