    Remington 12 guage tracer rounds

    All,

I have acquired an interesting box of 25 12 gage tracer rounds I am trying to find some information about. The box is paper and reads 25 shells, shotgun 12 gage, paper #8 C.s. & Tracer Lot R.A. 5001 Remington Arms Company. I've tried searching the internet to no avail , hoping someone might have some knowledge about these. Are they collectable? Any value to them?

    I appreciate all the help!

    Thanks,

    John

    Welcome to the forum.

Back about the 1980's or so, there were some shotgun tracer rounds on the market for training new shooters. Without seeing the box, it's hard to know if that's what you have, but they used to be advertised in Shotgun News back when I had my FFL.

    Hope this helps.

I believe these to be WWII era. There is a paper foil wrapped around the box. From what I have found I believe these were used for gunner for practice. I could be wrong. I cant find much information other than that. I was looking for a possible value but havent found anyone selling them. I have attached a picture that may help you folks out.

    Thanks again,

Sounds like whatever they are, they should be collectible.

GONRA's worn our "memory" (?) suggests there MIGHT be a holy aluminum ball with the tracer mix
dumped in with the shot load. Maybe that was Winchester's version? ???
