Just Had To Put Our Doggy Ralph Down. This Sucks

Poor Ralph has been ailing recently. Wife just yelled to me from the other room and when I ran in Ralph was having convulsions, foaming at the mouth and couldn't stand up. Blind, couldn't see and didn't respond so either stroke or brain embolism. I carried her out back and got the 45lc Blackhawk and that was that. Didn't like it one bit but I won't see any animal suffer.

Ralph was a great dog. She showed up out of the blue the year after we bought the house and stayed. Fully trained, never barked, didn't mess in the house. Just a good dog. Wife pretty broken up. 12yrs, 12 good years.

It's a hard thing to do but definitely the right thing to do. Sorry for your loss.

I'm sorry for the loss of your dog. It always sucks. You did the right thing but around here that would get me arrested for cruelty.

So sorry to hear. It's always tough to lose a family member, even if a furry one. That's one of the hardest things here on the farm, putting something down. I've done it for 50 years or so, but it never gets easy. My condolences.

Sorry to hear about your dog. You gave them one last act of kindness, not letting them suffer

Really sorry for your loss! What a horrible thing to have to do. I lost my Rowdy back in June and still haven't thought about getting another dog since his loss was so heartbreaking. Prayers for you and your wife.

Wow! That sux bigtime. We had our 14 yr old female put down a few months ago and just Wednesday got her replacement. She's a firecracker.

I now you're torn up. But eventually the hurt will recede. Maybe get another to fill the hole in your hearts?

I do not think I could pull the trigger on a pet I loved. One of my buddies is like me. He had to put s pet down and called his cousin.

Another guy I know, does not want anyone else to do it. Wants that last moment together.

I love dogs and hate going through the loss. Three times now...not sure I want to do it again.

    Yeah, heart breaker is right.
Feel for you jonp. It's what we sign on for when accepting them but when the time comes, doing the right thing (pay back time for everything they gave us) is tough.

As I punch these keys my buddy has woke up and walked in to chatter and squeak at me. She has my heart and lets me know she knows it every day. Well, I'd best go see what she wants.

15 degrees out. Wife and I just finished burying Ralph in the corner of the garden.

I feel bad for you and the wife. It is a hard thing to do, and having the vet do it is just as hard. Remember the good times with Ralph.

Very sorry for your loss. I know I will be crying like a baby when Ruger goes (my pup in my avatar who is 4 1/2 already). Haven't thought about putting him down myself. Something to think about with sending him on his way by my hand. Lot more love than a vet. Again sorry, but remember all the good things.
