    Reduced loads for 350 legend?

Has anyone tried reduced loads for 350 legend? Sparked the thought of running reduced loads for plinking since it utilizes 9mm dia projectiles.

I run 350L on a boltgun, so cycling isn't an issue.

I load a good deal of powder coated Lee 120 TCs on top of Promo (bulk version of Red Dot) in the 357 Max for revolver practice shooting.

OAL is 1.930 and I use 7.6 gr which Quickload says will generate 25,000 psi and 1420 fps from a 10".

Shoots good, low cost to load, much less blast than full power but more than a "pop gun" load.

I also have 350L in a bolt gun. (RAR) I am interested in a light load as well. I must be honest I have owned the gun for over a year and still have not pulled the trigger on it. Hum I need to change that.

guzma393 I am interested to see what you learn.

12g Blue Dot & a cast 180g HP shoots cloverleaves from my Ruger Bolt.

Killed a buck last tear with a Soft cast 220HP MP bullet W/either Green Dot or Unique (load both) @ 1400 Muzzle velocity. Buck was 45/50 yards traveled anout 30yards tipped on his nose and died.

I'd start with Unique and 38 +P data and work up a one hole group .

    I have a 95 RNFP for 380 on up to a 35-250 if it had a 350 .

9/38/357/358 are all basically the same dia if you exclude the Russians and 38 short and long .

Seems like I’m one of the few interested but for a semi auto.

Gave a friend of mine some 250gr cast boolits and he has them loaded with VV tin star and are working very well for him as a single shot.

For data, look at 357 Maxi. So far ALL Loads tested have been at or below Legend starting loads. (Take care with some powders like H110/296 that dont like redused loadings)

A friend if mine used to shoot my 270g in his custom 1:12 357 Maxi with a full case of 1680. He took a 200# Blk Bear withbthat bullet and load few years back. I see no reason same couldnt be tried with a Legend. Only thing tonwatch is stability as most Legends are 1:16.

Along your lines Rabid, the SAECO 245g always shot great in my 1:16 Legend.

I really want to do a 1:10 barrel but it doesn’t seem to be much out there besides somewhat expensive custom ones.

Got an NEI 250gr mold that runs very well but I’ve yet to have the time to work loads down for subsonic use.

I got the same boltgun. I bought it as an impulse ever since Marylindistan allowed straightwalled cartridges for hunting last year. Was able to get a deer with it and load up some full power target loads using 147 grain 9mm J-words and lil'gun.

Looks like I need to get some the powders these guys suggested. I only have titegroup and clays when it comes to fast burning pistol powders.

If he doesn't mind J-word loads, I was able to get RMR 147 grain FMJ RN pushed with 25 gn lil'gun to cycle and feed decent in a friend's BCA (of all brands) 350L upper.
