I don't think the 1 hour soak time to dissolve is really necessary but I do it. You are putting it on heavier than hitek suggests so that is why it looks more like powder. The pigment package seems a bit heavier as well.

That said... tried "black cherry" last night... lots of black, no cherry...

I won't buy it again, as hitek is same price and works pretty good.

I use Kryptonite Green for all mine.
Black cherry, TruBlu and afew others are very heat sensitive.
Most of the metallics ( Red copper, Gold 1035, Bronze 502 etc ) are very forgiving to a point.

Resins turn yellow, organic pigments all turn black which is why the bright blues and reds are more prone to color degridation.

Same here... Alox or conventional grease groove lube keeps looking easier and easier every time I read a post like this.

The idea behind the HITEK coating is that it was first designed for high volume users like IPSC, NRA Action Match and ICORE shooters.

I used to lube with white label lube in a Lyman 450 before I started HITEK coating.
Coating allows me to process 4000 bullets per hour and use a pass through sizer die.
HITEK Coating has been mainstream here in Australia for around 30 years for commercial casters and about 8 years for home casters.
    Hooroo.

I'll never lube again... coatings result in cleaner dies, guns, and brass, significantly lower smoke in the range and dramatically higher production rates of bullets. Functionally, it doesnt matter which coating you use, hitek, bcb, powder. They all work. Each has benefits and drawbacks. This thread was meant to serve as information to those considering BCB for thier variety of colors.

Ya we tend to get a bit off topic often here. (or inject opinions) I am guilty of that one often. Sorry if I contributed to this. I did hear your advice regardless. Thanks
