    .440 Mauser?

    I'm reading through John Taylor's "African Rifles and Cartridges", and at one point he mentions the .440 Mauser. Unfortunately he doesn't say much, beyond dismissing it for use on dangerous game, and I can't find anything written about a .440 Mauser. I'm guessing that Taylor was referring to the 11.15x60, do any of you know better?
