Here is what it will do, 5 passes in one day, that is rust blue on a 700. A blue job in a day, that lasts. You just use distilled water from the grocery store, stainless steel wire to hang parts inside, 00 steel wool to card, 320 grit belt to start, no buffer. If you want the step by step I can send it to you.
The Pot is a cheapo aluminum boil pot with lid, a 4” toilet flange, four feet of 4” DWV pvc, a coupling, 6” of 3/4” dowel and a 4” cap. Put toilet flange on top centered, draw circle, and mark vent holes, drill, heat resistant silicone, screw to lid with metal screws. Cut 1” wide slot in sides of the top for dowel.

If all you need is boiling water, will steam do? This is my steam generator, I can do a 2 hour boil job in 15 minutes with rolling steam. Rust blue an entir gun in 1 day. I think it cost about $15 from ACE. Without the cooker.

Did you use a certain sealant to mount the PVC to the pot?
