    45 Auto Ammunition.

Have any of you used Sig Sauer ammunition. My son was at Sportsmans Warehouse this morning. He bought 7 boxes of Sig Sauer 45 autos for $22.00 a box. I thought that was a fantastic price, considering Midway is selling new empty brass for $39.00 a 100. I thought most pistol ammo was selling for about a dollar per round.

NM - just checked. Its 50 round boxes. Check with him. If self defense ammo it may be only 20 rounds per box

I have ran a good bit of the sig 380 defensive ammo through several pistols and like it. The bullets are made by sierra and I have been reloading then in 380 and 45 for carry ammo.

I've been seeing brass case 9mm for around $0.40-$0.60 per round lately. Still too expensive, but all the Sig ammo I've shot has been good.

$22/50 of .45 ACP is pre- drought price- well done! I’ve shot .380, 9mm, and 10mm Sig ammo and it’s good stuff. Sierra bullets are very good.

I rarely buy factory ammo, but I got a new 9mm revolver and curious to see how 9mm SD ammo functions in a 2" barrel. I watched a bunch of gel test, accuracy and functioning videos for short barrel 9mm guns and Sig Sauer V-Crown performed quite well. Some tests, maybe 2-3 showed smaller expansion at lower 2" velocitied, but good expansion and penetration normal 4"-5" barrels. I purchased 2 boxes, good price but available. Off the top of my head I cannot remember the price, but it was not exorbitant and less than many compriable ammo (my purchases were 20 round boxes). They ahot quite well in my 5"Masada, and Ruger LC9s and my Taurus 905. I only blasted a few 2 liter soda bottles and paper with the 905 and it was accurate and blew up the bottles OK. I bouthr 2 more boxes...

I know my post is about 9mm, but it's an example of the Sig Sauer quality, which personally I'd apply to the 45 ACP. $22.50 for 50 rounds of factory new rounds? Even though I'm a dedicated reloader, I'll take ten...

I miss the old prices. I can't even find primers these days.

I never understood why, but unless you buy in bulk,
it seems new and empty brass has always been at least as expensive as loaded ammo.
