Make an older ar 80% jig to work with an ar 9 lower, (vent)

I bought an grab bag from a dealer, there was a ar 9 Lower. Spent two hours “drill press” milling one of the mag support to fit the mag release. Very slow and took my time. Finished with a router. Should of did the router the whole time. When went to test fit, found out I needed to cut a channel for where the pin goes for the glock style mag release

Went looking in a box, found another jig, it fit. Problem, lost all the top plate screws. Same goes with one I was adapting.

    What a morning

I tried to complete an 80% AR lower with my drill press. Forgot to tighten down everything from after I moved. Just enough play to ruin it. Know how you feel. Good luck.

Ended up ordering an easy jig. Did not want to make any mistakes and end up ordering another. Don’t remember where I order the one jig from

Routers are designed to cut sideways. Drill press only down - not with side loading. Using a drill press may not only ruin your lower but maybe harm the drill press itself.
