Crisco
I used Crisco I back 50 years ago when I started shooting M L 's.
In fact.
I have an old toothpaste tube filled with Crisco that I still use when I run out of Bore Butter.
I use 50% beeswax, 50% crisco or lard.
When you care enough to send the very best, send an ounce of lead.
Carmex will work.

Crisco , lard any mink oil boot grease .
For cold weather below freezing 50-50 olive or neatsfoot oil and beeswax.

For my 58 I coat the maxi ball in Crisco and then wrap it in Glad press and seal plastic wrap and then when loaded I push the whole thing down the muzzle no mess and no problem .

Whatever you go with, shoot it first before you hunt with it. It may not hit in the same place as one with BB.
Given not much time I suggest the use of straight Crisco also. You should have at least enough time to check the zero as mentioned. Good luck.

Google Stumpy's Moose Snot and use any vegetable oil you have instead of what the the recipe calls for (as per Stumpy himself). You can adjust the thickness by monkeying with the proportion of beeswax to oil if necessary.
I use a mix of 50/50 olive oil and beeswax. If you were closer I'd give ya some, or even some bore butter. Good luck on your hunt!
I've tried Mink Oil for boots and it shot the same as Bore Butter . I suspect Crisco would be the same . The only grief I've had with Maxi Balls if the lube Boe Butter is dried out and then it's 50cal buck shot pattern

Chapstick will work same as BB
Lamb, or mutton if you must, tallow + beeswax.
