    Tanfoglio ta90 magazine compatibility

My friend has a Tanfoglio TA90 9mm pistol that needs a magazine, we have looked everywhere and can not find one. Do any of you guys know where we could find one or maybe one that would fit from another make?

Tanfoglio TA-90 will also take TZ-75 and Springfield P-9 mags, all the same gun. Jericho 941 mags should also work, same frame from the same manufacturer. Also, early Tanfoglio Witness mags will also fit.

I really appreciate your help. Would that be CZ 75 instead of TZ 75?

All of the TZ 75, TA 90, Jericho, Springfield P9 and EAA Witness (9mm and 40 S&W) were clones or adaptations of the CZ 75, from when the Iron Curtain was still in existence.

IIRC the TA 90 had a slide mounted hammer dropping safety; whereas the originals had a frame mounted safety, allowing cocked and locked carry.

That is TZ-75, another import name, as all of the guns listed were made by Tanfoglio of Italy. The original 15 round CZ-75 mags have been known to work, but only the older ones. Also, a decade or so ago Tanfoglio adopted a small/large frame to accommodate the 38 Super/10mm models. The small frame mags might work, but I don't know.

In the beginning Tanfoglio made 9 mm and 40 S&W guns using their small frame,
and 45 ACP guns using their large frame.

Then (15? 20? years ago) they changed over and made the 9mm and 40 on the large frames,
    I guess to simplify manufacturing.

So if you are looking for a mag for a 9mm Tanfoglio CZ "copy" then you also need to know if
you need a small frame 9mm mag or a large frame 9mm mag.

You can google around to find out how to differentiate the different frame sizes and then compare to your friends gun.
