    Pinfire shells

Strange, and probably hard to find.

I'd say hard to find! It has been at least 50 years since I saw any at a gun show or advertised for sale. Interesting pieces of history. And need to be preserved by someone. james

The last I saw for sale were in an old Dixie Gun Works catalog, probably in the mid 70's. If I had an old shotgun, it would be fun too try to make some.

Actually, there are a lot of that type of old guns for sale here and probably other parts of Europe too. You can buy all the supplies needed make new cartridges as well as already made to order ones. An old timer once told me he remembered his father having a shotgun that originally used pin fire cartridges, but had it converted to center fire cartridges like a lot of people did at the time. There are a lot of nice looking antique guns that come up for sale that use the system. Shotguns and a lot of pistols. I’ve thought about getting into, because there are a lot because of the inexpensive nice looking pistols. However, for now I have enough projects to finish, before I go down another rabbit hole.

    Here are some pistols.

I found these old 7mm pinfire rounds many years ago, and I kept looking for a revolver that they fit. Finally found one.
I tried to sell the 7mm pinfire revolver on GB last year for cheap money but there were no takers.

I have a 4ga pinfire that was and is hard to find. I added it to my collection 24 or so years ago. About 20 years ago it went into hiding for a couple of years before I ran across it again.

I was going to get a picture of it for this thread, but it apparently has gone into hibernation. Last I recall seeing it was a year or so ago, and I do not remember where. Too many shelves, boxes, and cases piled up to find it readily. When found, I will post it here.

I have only seen one other since I purchased mine, but have not been actively searching.

Yes they are HARD TO FIND

This is my 2mm pinfire handgun. I think the rounds are available.
