    need help with Sharps id.

    in a box of black powder junk i recently bought there were 2 pieces in a separate small box which i believe to go to an original Sharps Rifle. any help and info would be greatly appreciated!

    Looks like a 1859 or 1863 lock plate

    Yep, lock plates for the percussion models of Sharps, set up for the Lawrence pellet priming system. Interesting idea, although I'm not sure how well it worked.
