    king cobra cylinder length???

I've shot dw's and s&w l-frames for decades. Been looking at the king cobra's and was wondering how long/short the cylinders are on them.

Had a python back in the 80's and hated the short cylinder on it. I see the kimber k6's have a short cylinder, that keeps me from taking a hard look at them. Never wanted a model 27/28 for the same reason.

Does anyone know if the king cobras have long cylinders like the dw's, l-frames, gp 1000's???

There are two renditions of the Colt King Cobra.
I have the recent one, the smaller one.
    It’s cylinder length is 1.560”

    I have an original KC.

Its cyl is 1.605. But it has a raised ring of approx .60 around cyl.

I’ll add that the new (2019) King Cobra cylinder is machined flat on the back. No rings. Not recessed for case heads.

The cylinder length of my recent GP100 4.2” 357 is 1.607”.

In my book the new King Cobra has a short cylinder. But for a CCW gun, that’s a good thing. For long heavy boolits, that’s a bad thing.
