I recently acquired a used set of 45ACP dies and it had an odd decapping pin added to the box. I'm sure it's nothing special, just curious what kind of dies it went with.
Thanks

That isn't a decapping pin. It is a Lee trimmer length gauge. jd
It seems that people who do almost nothing, often complain loudly when it's time to do it.
Most folks don't worry much about trimming their 45 ACP's, but if you do, you've got one part of the equation. jd

Here is what you have (partially).

It’s worthless without the cutter head (purchased separately) and the case holder.

Well, that explains the funky little shell holder that was in there. It's the other half of that little kit.
I read an article somewhere in the last 6 months showing that 45ACP (and presumably all similar cases) actually shrink with repeated firings. The author repeatedly fired the same set of cases, measured after every firing and they got shorter. There should never be a need to trim 45acp brass.
That stud screws into the cutter and the length of the case isn't adjustable. I have been using Lee trimmers for quite a while, rifle not handgun, and they are very consistent, easy or use...

Most here will probably say that they have never trimmed a .45 ACP case. They’re usually a few thousandths shy of spec anyway.

The only pistol brass I trim are .357 and .41 magnum, I do this so I get a nice uniform crimp. On .357 and .41 that’s just too short I relegate them to lighter loads where I just remove the belling. All .38sp just get the belling removed, no crimp.
