Found a Marlin JM 336 in 35 Rem. at a WV gun show about a month ago. (Not a waffle top). Gun showed some usual wear and tear, and guy wanted $900. Looked through the barrel and all I could see was dust, dirt and whatever,....couldn't distinguish the rifling it was so dirty. Asked the guy to wipe out the bore so I could check it out.
His answer, "Come on, it's a 35 Remington, nobody shoots one of them out!"
I replied I was not worried about the barrel being "Shot out", I was worried about rust and pitting!
He didn't want a patch through the barrel, so I laid the rifle on the table and walked off.
Some of these gunshow sellers are like used car salesmen. "Let the buyer beware!"
