    Caliber Question

I picked up a set of Bystrom rifle dies at my local gun shop in their junk room, along with several other rare treasures. The caliber marking on this seater die is unusual. Any ideas?

    Try the Lille pinkie test!

When a shooter reads “308”, the 308 Win comes to mind, hence the pinkie.

If it’s a loose fit then as suggested, the old Norma Mag is a possibility.

It will take some fooling around with some various cartridge casings to narrow it down and if that is inconclusive I would resort to using some chamber casting material ...... if it warranted knowing.

    My eye sight isn't 20/20 , I'm blowing the photo's up and what I see is ... 308 - NO - MAG
That should be the 308 Norma Magnum ... Do they still make ammo / brass this one ?
It came out in 1961 and the Nosler #4 Manual gives it high marks ... brass may ... I say may because I'm not sure ... may can be formed from 338 Winchester Magnum Brass ... but this needs to be verified .
