    Early Christmas

Between the wife and I we have a big extended family. It gets expensive. So among my brothers and their wives and my parents, we draw names and do a secret Santa thing, so we're only buying one present each for that family. My wife's family does the same thing, between her sisters and their husbands, so only one gift each for that family. But there's still a lot of nieces and nephews, not to mention our own kids. Still expensive, but manageable.

This year we decided that's we'd pool our Christmas gifts between the wife and I, and just get a full size griddle for the both of us. We got it early so I could practice a bit, since it's my first. I can grill and smoke, but just haven't had a decent griddle before.

Two days in a row we've used it, and it's fantastic. Last night we did hibachi fried rice with steak and shrimp, and tonight we did diner-style burgers. Both were excellent.

If you like to cook out, but get tired of the grill, I recommend a good 36" griddle. I love the food you get in a diner, but it was never quite the same when I tried to cook it at home. But now I can!

The last picture is the kids working the grill tonight.

A friend bought one for elk camp.
He is getting up there in years and can`t do the walking he used to.
He goes mainly to be the camp cook.
    He loves his.
